This three-part workshop will be given as two
ZOOM classes in your home, with a Saturday field work session at Leu Gardens.
Participants should own a DSLR or a Mirrorless camera and a tripod.
Upon registration, please email three of your
favorite photos (any subject) to
miltonheiberg@gmail.com for review at the first session. Please include your
cell phone number in this email.
Wednesday, July 20, 2022, 7:00–9:00 pm, Planning session
Zoom session: We will discuss the optional equipment that you may or may not
already own (close-up attachment lenses, extension rings, macro lens). We will
cover photography of wildflowers, insects, butterflies, and other small
creatures. We will also discuss shooting flying insects with long lenses.
Saturday, July 23, 2022, 9:00–11:00 am, Field
photography
We will meet inside the entrance of the Leu
Gardens’
main building armed with cameras & tripods. Then continue to locations within
the gardens where we will demonstrate techniques outlined in class.
Wednesday, July 27, 2022, 7:00–9:00 pm, Show
and tell critique session
Prior to this class, please select and email five photos from Saturday’s field
work to miltonheiberg@gmail.com.
Zoom session: Constructive critique sessions are probably the most valuable
experiences for any photographer. This session will also show how to bring your
photos to their maximum visual quality using computer post-processing.
